Mint Ginger Iced Tea

Finally the scorching summer is here for us in southern Ontario . It is getting warmed up in coming weeks and it is barbecue time during all weekends.  So to beat these summer heat I am bringing you all cool iced tea recipe which is flavoured with ginger and mint . 
I am a big time Iced tea lover , but I don’t like to drink store bought iced teas because of the amount of sugars and preservatives in it . Recently I made an Orange Iced tea in which orange juice is added to iced tea and it turned to be very refreshing and tasty. I had tons of mint which was grown in my garden , I wanted to make some drinks out of it and I was bored with the usual mojito or mint lemonade.  I love drinking hot ginger tea so while I was making the mint tea I thought of adding some ginger as well which turned to be very refreshing . 
The ingredients which I have used in this drink all have cooling , antioxidant and refreshing properties. I have used a regular black tea here feel free to use any kind of tea according to your palate , but I prefer black tea because of the colour . Black tea is a zero calorie drink if you consume it without any added sugar , it has a lot of antioxidants. Another super ingredient is ginger , it is a very refreshing ingredients and helps in digestion . So you can serve this drink with any heavy meals because of it’s digestive properties . Last but not the least mint , is a great natural flavouring agent has a lot of good properties such as immunity boosting , controlling blood sugar and aids in digestion . 
The cooking method is very simple , doesn’t involve a lot of steps in here . It is very easy to make and can be prepared by anyone and also can be made way ahead of time. 
Prep Time – 5 minutes
Cooking Time – 5 minutes
Serves- 3 to 4
Level- Easy
mg2 Ingredients 

Tea bags- 2 or 3
Ginger- 1 1/2 teaspoon ( please do reduce it if you don’t like ginger flavour , I love the flavour that’s why it is 1 1/2 teaspoons)
Mint leaves- 5 to 6 leaves if you like stronger mint flavour increase the leaves 
Honey- couple of drops to sweeten . You can use any sweetner accordin to your taste here 
Water – 3 to 4 cups ( A cup approximately 200 ml)


1. Brew tea as usual . You can brew it for longer if you want the brew to be stronger . I only brew it for 2 minutes then add some ice cubes keep it in fridge while you prepare the ginger and mint paste . 
2. In a food processor place ginger and mint  and pulse it smooth by adding tiny bit water if required 
3. By this time the tea would have cooled , then add the pulsed ginger and mint mixture and desired sweetner 
4. Strain this and serve cold on top of ice cubes .
